I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas this Thursday!
This morning we just had a Christmas party with half of the whole mission (there are about 214 of us and about 30 are Sister missionaries and the rest are Elders, we are too numerous to fit in the offices for a party with everyone, so half of us went today and half tomorrow). As part of it each zone presented a skit and my zone sang "Cantan Santos Angeles" in English and Spanish (sorry I don't remember what it is in English haha :/ )(Angels We Have Heard On High) and I accompanied them playing the violin! it's been a while that I've actually played a violin, but I haven't lost my touch yet ;) My companion, Hermana Martinez, has the video on her camera so you'll be able to see it when I get back :)
This week we had the privilege of visiting a woman of 92 years who is in our ward named Maria de Los Angeles Carranza. She had been really sick and just left the hospital. We heard about her by talking to her nephew, hermano Acosta, so we went to visit her. I was amazed as she told us her story. She actually served a mission too, but it was when all of her kids were grown up and she was 69-years-old. Her husband had past away at a younger age, so she actually served a mission and proselyted like a regular young missionary of 18-years and above! She walked just as much as we do or more, and in HEELS because she didn't have anything else and she was accustomed to using them. Her companions were our age as well. It was so neat to hear her story and her testimony. She gave me an extra boost and determination to be better and reminded me that we really can do hard things, even when they seem impossible. There isn't anything we can't do if we rely on our Heavenly Father.
